STATE CHAMPIONS!!!!

They did it!!! Alter won its first football state championship by beating rival Steubenville 21-6. Alter lost to Steubenville 2 years ago in the state championship game by a score of 33-34. Revenge was sure sweet!!! Alter controlled the ball and defense really stepped up to keep Steubenville scoreless until the 4th quarter.

Colleen and I were able to go to Dad's state final game. Denise had to work, but she was there in spirit and was able to watch part of the game on the internet, as many of you did as well.

Alter draws first blood and leads 7-0 after an 8-yard TD pass in the first quarter. The score remained 7-0 into half-time.

Alter stopped Steubenville's first drive in the second half and then scored on a QB 3-yd run into the endzone. Alter's up 14-0 with 4:40 left in the third quarter.

The Steubenville fans are leaving the stadium in droves as Alter controlled the game on offense and defense. Steubenville scored with 9:42 left in the 4th quarter, but missed the extra point. They made the 4th quarter interesting with another drive, but the defense stepped up and stopped them once again.

Notre Dame September 2008

Notre Dame was awesome!! It was a neat experience and such a great tradition at Notre Dame. Denise was in heaven and it was so fun being together with the sisters!!! It was a beautiful day and it was topped off with an Irish win.

Jordan Vs. Massillon August 2008

Denise and I went to Canton, Ohio in August to see the Jordan Beetdiggers take on the Massillon Tigers in football. It was a great game and I got to see so many wonderful people that I knew from my years at Jordan.

One great surprise was seeing Kristi Williams. She came to the game to see her brother play. Kristi was a student of mine during my first year at Jordan and it was so good seeing her! She is now in Washington D.C. and I now have a personal guide when I visit our nations capital!

The stadium was huge and very full of orange Massillon fans. They were even sitting on the visitors side. We were surrounded....

Jordan was ahead at the end of the first quarter scoring the first and only touchdown of the quarter. They went into the locker room at half time tied 14 - 14. They were still even at the end of the 3rd quarter 21 - 21 and with under a few minutes to go in the fourth quarter and tied 24 -24, Jordan drove the length of the field and scored the winning field goal with about 5 seconds remaining in the game. It was an amazing game and Jordan never gave up. They faught hard and deserved to win. Way to go Beetdiggers!

Paiute Trail July 2008

I am in awe of the beautiful mountains of Utah. The Paiute Trail is no exception!

I fell in love with these trees along the trail. Jo Jeppson said that they grow crooked from the weight of the snow through the winter. It was so quite and absolutely beautiful.

Very Remiss in my blogging duties....

I know - some of you probably have wondered what happened to me. I am so sorry for the long delay in blog posts. I am definitely alive and well in Ohio and finally found some time on the internet to do a little updating! So sit back, relax, grab a snack and enjoy the updates!

First update: Piaute trail trip in July, 2008. Came back to Utah for a great four-wheeling trip with even greater friends. I sure miss those Utah mountains!

Second update: Jordan HS vs. Masilon HS football, Canton, OH August, 2008. This was a great football game with a great ending! Way to go Beetdiggers!

Third update: NOTRE DAME FOOTBALL BABY!!!! August, 2008 - Denise, Colleen and I had the great opportunity to go to a ND football game and watch them win!! What an atmosphere it was and great to be with my sisters.
