Mickey still on the loose

Well, I never imagined it would happen to me, especially in the process of selling my home! He showed up last week right in the middle of showing my house to potential buyers. I have a mouse, and no, he's not a pet. I must admit it's kind of nice coming home and talking to someone, er, something. I first named him Mickey, but since it's now almost one week since I spotted him and I haven't been able to catch him, I've renamed him Houdini! Let me recap my life with Mickey for the last week.

I first spotted Mickey last Thursday evening. I was sitting upstairs in my condo and he scurried across the hallway toward the vanity. I'm not really sure where he settled, but he is definitely upstairs. My first trap I tried was from my neighbor Fred. I went to him right after school on Friday and pleaded for his help. Here's what he gave me to try:

I tried a peanut, then peanut butter, then cheese. Nothing worked. I wanted to be as humane as possible and not kill the little guy. But after three nights and no mouse, I was getting desperate. So here's trap #2:

I went back to the cheese for this trap, according to Fred. Well, the first night was Monday and I was sound asleep. I was SNAPPED out of a sound sleep around 11:30 pm. It was so loud that it woke me up. I was too freaked out to go look. I got up Tuesday morning and walked out of my bedroom to take a look. The trap was empty!!!!!!!!!! The cheese was scattered on the floor and little Mickey escaped again. The trap probably scared the begeebees out of him as much as it did me! He didn't even go near it Tuesday night - no snap and the cheese went untouched. Well, I was talking about it at lunch today and my friends said to talk to Scott Healy. He has a snake in his classroom and knows how to catch the mice! After talking to him and telling him of my desperate situation, he brought me this:

It's now Wednesday night and I've placed the peanut butter in the trap and now I wait. The plan is to catch Mickey tonight and take him to school tomorrow to feed the hungry snake. The circle of life in the halls of Jordan High School. Wish me luck!
