The noise didn't wake me up, I was already awake. But once I heard the snap of the trap, I was sceptical. After all, Mickey had escaped and or avoided my traps altogether for the last 12 days. I left this weekend for a little R&R and hoped that I would return to a trapped mouse. He enjoyed the peanut butter I left for him, and again avoided the trap - it didn't release. I used this to my advantage, lulling Mickey into a false sense of security. What finally did it? Well, finally a trap that worked and a little squeaky cheese. Yes, cheese curd was what did him in. I can't tell you how happy I am. 12 days - probably the longest I'll have a pet. He is pretty cute - here's a pic and video.
